Whale Watching SPECIAL August 27 to September 16, 2011

Drake Bay whale season is coming..

The longest mammal migration is under way. Humpback whales from the Antartica region are traveling to Drake Bay, Costa Rica. This 6000 mile voyage will end in the warm shallows of Drake Bay where baby whales will be born and the mating ritual will begin . In Drake Bay the humpback whales breach and use their songs as part of their mating game. The La Paloma Lodge Whale Watching Excursion offers travelers a chance to observe the humpback migration. Bull whale songs can be heard while sitting in the boat.

Guests also have the chance to see bull whales breaching and calves being lifted to the surface by their mothers. Our naturalist guides offer expert knowledge about these amazing creatures.
